The challenge
Sarah stocked by instinct. A dress style would sell out in medium while smalls and extra-larges hung on the rail for months, tying up cash she needed for new collections. She had no record of which colourway actually moved, and customers who wanted to pay in instalments simply walked out.
What SawaPOS changed
SawaPOS was set up with variant-level inventory — every size and colourway carries its own stock count, SKU and barcode — plus an image gallery so staff can find a piece visually. Layaway was enabled so customers pay a deposit and collect later, with balances tracked and pickup reminders sent. Customer profiles record purchase history and loyalty points.
Measured results
- Overall sales up 40% within two seasons
- Dead stock down sharply — buying now follows real size-and-colour data
- Layaway recovered roughly 20% of sales that previously walked out
- Repeat-customer rate up via loyalty points and purchase history
“SawaPOS showed me I was buying the wrong sizes for two years. Now I order what actually sells, and layaway captures the customers I used to lose at the door.”
